His name is Mudd

Whether the expression came from Dr. Mudd aiding John Wilkes Booth after he assassinated Lincoln (did he or didn't he?!) or if it means "a stupid twaddling fellow" like etymonline.com says, it doesn't matter. What matters is that I went to a historical landmark today and now I'm teaching you about it. Scholars maintain that the literal translation has been lost for centuries. Dr. Mudd's home is about 2 miles from my new place in Waldorf, and since I have nothing better to do now that I'm a geographical bachelorette, I went for a drive today.

After Dr. Mudd's house, I just drove until I got to the end of the road. I saw on the map that there was a national park on the beach so I checked it out. Not as pretty as I was expecting but the east coast beaches always do that to me. It was about 12 degrees cooler and I love the salty sea smell so I can get over the black water and small beaches.

Point Lookout State Park

Notice any safety hazards? Oh, I don't know, fishing where your children are swimming...

I guess I've been missing my old commute and had to get in the car and drive for a while. Haha. No, I do not miss that commute. I love getting to work in 20 minutes. I love owning a Prius and being able to enjoy not filling up every week. Again, I love not driving 130 miles a day! I'm very excited about this.

Oh, I am so sorry you have entered bachelorette-ness for awhile. I bet it's hard and you miss your man. Ain't nothin' gonna break your stride though! Love that you're still checking out new things and new places. Wish I could ride along :)
